Setting up the car charger (OCPP)

If your charger speaks OCPP 1.6J, you change one address in the charger's app. Check the compatibility list first. If Home Assistant or another system already controls the charger over OCPP, it can only connect to one at a time.

A short video of this guide is coming.

1

Compatibility

Find your charger on the "Will my devices work?" page. It also shows where to set it (maker's app or web page).

2

OCPP settings

In the charger's app look for "OCPP", "Backend", "Central system" or "Supervision URL", and choose OCPP 1.6J (JSON).

3

Enter the address

Paste the "Car charger: OCPP central system" address from your account page. If the charger asks for a charge point ID separately, enter a short name such as "home". Leave the password empty.

4

Check

After saving the charger reconnects, and the charger row on your account page turns green, with its model.
