Installing the Shelly Pro 3EM meter

The meter measures at the grid connection whether you export. That is how Nem adom el knows there is surplus. Installing it is an electrician's job, about 30 minutes.

This step works on the mains: only a qualified electrician may do it.

A short video of this guide is coming.

Szolgáltatói mérőL1 L2 L3 → ház / house Shelly Pro 3EM 6 A ● fogó / clamp: I1–I3, nyíl a ház felé ● feszültség / voltage: A, B, C, N
1

Room on the rail

The meter is 3 modules wide and goes in the distribution board after the utility meter, with its own breaker (e.g. single-pole 6 A).

2

Current clamps

One clamp per phase conductor, right after the utility meter, arrow towards the house. A single-phase home needs one. The clamps go to inputs I1, I2, I3; the phase order must match the voltage inputs.

3

Voltage inputs

Voltage inputs A, B, C from the same three phases, N to neutral, through the meter's breaker.

4

Network

A network cable to the LAN socket if possible; otherwise put it on Wi-Fi in the Shelly Smart Control app.

5

Check

In the app the power must be positive while the home takes from the grid and negative while the solar exports. If it is the other way round, a clamp is the wrong way.
