Devices and setup
What to buy, what your electrician connects, and how you link it all to NemAdomEl. You buy the devices in any shop, your own electrician installs them, and you do the rest yourself in about 15 minutes.
1. What to buy
Three small devices for the fuse box. They are standard, certified products sold by electrical wholesalers and web shops. We do not sell hardware, so buy them wherever they are cheapest.
Shelly Pro 3EM energy meter
Measures every second whether your home is exporting to the grid. This is how NemAdomEl knows when there is surplus.
The same meter for single-phase and three-phase homes, with the current clamps it comes with. DIN rail mounted, connects over Wi-Fi or a network cable.Shelly Pro 1 relay
Switches the water heater on when there is surplus, and off again when the sun goes.
DIN rail mounted. It does not switch the heater directly; it drives the contactor below.Installation contactor, 2-pole, 25 A, 230 V coil
Carries the heater's current so the relay does not wear out. Any brand will do (Hager, Schneider, ABB, Legrand…).
Only needed for the water heater. Without an electric water heater you can skip the relay and the contactor.Internet at the fuse box
Your home Wi-Fi has to reach the fuse box, or a network cable has to run to it.
If the internet drops, the water heater keeps working on its own thermostat and the car keeps charging as before; only the surplus steering pauses.2. Car charger (if you have an electric car)
Any wall charger works that speaks OCPP 1.6J and lets you enter the address of the "central system". That is how NemAdomEl tells it how fast to charge. Your existing charger may already be fine.
Examples that work:
Not on the list? Look for "OCPP" in the charger's manual or app. If you can type in a server address (starting with ws:// or wss://), it will work.
A charger without OCPP, or a plain socket, cannot be steered. NemAdomEl still saves on the water heater; only the car part is left out.3. For your electrician
Show this section to your electrician. In a normal fuse box it is about an hour of work.
Shelly Pro 3EM: one current clamp on each phase conductor right after the utility meter, arrow towards the house; voltage inputs from the same phases through their own breaker, as in the Shelly manual. A single-phase home needs one clamp.
Contactor: its main contacts go into the water heater's supply after the heater's own breaker. The heater's thermostat and safety cut-out stay in the circuit unchanged.
Shelly Pro 1: its output drives the contactor's 230 V coil; the relay itself carries no heater current.
Water heater on the controlled (night) circuit: that circuit has no power in daytime. Agree with the customer how the heater gets daytime supply from the normal circuit, within the utility's rules.
Put both Shelly devices on Wi-Fi or a network cable, and you are done. The customer sets up the rest in the app.
4. Linking your account (after sign-up and payment)
No port forwarding and no technical knowledge needed: you copy two addresses from your account into the devices.
1. Sign up and pay
Your account page shows your personal connection addresses and a checklist that ticks itself off as the devices come online.
2. Add the Shelly devices in the Shelly app
Put both devices on your home Wi-Fi with the free Shelly Smart Control app (if your electrician has not done it yet) and install the firmware update it offers.
3. Paste your address into both Shelly devices
In each device: Settings → Outbound WebSocket → turn it on, paste the address from your account (wss://nemadomel.hu/ws/…), Save. That is all: from now on the device reports to NemAdomEl by itself.
4. Car charger: enter the OCPP address
In the charger's app, under OCPP: the central system address wss://nemadomel.hu/ocpp/… and the charge point ID, both copied from your account. Skip this step if you have no charger.
5. Check and set your preferences
When every line of the checklist is green, set when you need hot water and how far the car should charge. From then on it runs by itself, and every month you get a report of what you saved.
